February Superintendent’s Newsletter

This month begins a continued focus on our school district strategic plan.  I ask parents for their help and support in helping us continue to improve for your children by filling out a parent survey.  This survey will provide valuable information for the district to establish a gauge of how we are performing as a school district.  Your child will be bringing home this survey and we appreciate your prompt completion and return of the survey.  Your support in these changing educational times is greatly appreciated.  As a school we continue to strive to improve in the area of service and support in the education of your child.

Thank you to those of you that supported our district by donating to the tax credit program.  Your donations will help send students on educational adventures in Washington D.C., support all grades on educational field trips, athletics and enrich Seligman children’s education.

Open enrollment has begun for our future kindergarten students.  If you know of a student that is eligible to attend kindergarten next year, please let them know that we are beginning to gather information to help prepare our K-2 teaching team.  Our teachers are highly qualified and have begun planning for the second year of our early childhood program.

Spring is around the corner and graduation will be here before you know it.  Our students have completed their second round of benchmark testing to help teacher determine which students have mastered or are in the process of gaining the necessary concepts that will be needed to be successful on the AIMS test.

Our high school has begun to prepare for its accreditation process that will ensure that students graduating from Seligman are college ready, prepared to enter the workforce or armed services.  Community members will also be needed for an interview with the AdvancEd accreditation committee.  If you are interested, please contact

Kathy Cothrun (928) 422-3233 to add your name to the community committee.
