Letter from the Superintendent-Principal of Schools

July 19, 2022

Dear Seligman Community,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the start of the 2022–2023 school year and officially introduce myself to the community. I consider it a privilege to be your new superintendent-principal of schools.

The Seligman School District has earned a reputation as a good district. As an educator for thirty-five years, I wholeheartedly value the programs and services in place, and I am committed to building upon past practices to ensure that current and future students have opportunities to explore their interests and find their true passions.

Since arriving in late June, I witnessed this sense of pride as I underwent the interview process and experienced it firsthand over the past few days. Each of the faculty members, parents, students, and residents I have met has been extremely welcoming and helpful. Please know that it is my intent to make every effort to foster and cultivate this practice to ensure the continued success of our students, schools, and community.

While serving as your superintendent-principal of schools, I plan to be accessible to all community stakeholders and maintain an open-door communication policy. I encourage and welcome any questions, comments, or concerns you have about our schools. You can reach me directly at (928) 607-9528.

I would like to welcome our new hires to the Seligman Schools. Angela Martin will be teaching kindergarten. Virginia Araujo will be teaching first grade. Patricia Cossey will be teaching second grade. Lynn Lindblad will be teaching fourth and fifth grade along with coordinating special education. Venice Fraser will be handling kindergarten through twelfth-grade PE, and Geetanjali Padhy will be teaching eighth through twelfth-grade science. Special thanks to Steve Barr for covering for Ms. Padhy until she arrives. We are very excited about having them on board.

It is an exciting time for the Seligman School District, and I am looking forward to the year ahead. Again, please feel free to stop by the school at any time!
